Kayaking in Boston, MA

Event Date: Sept 17, 2023
Event Time: 2:00-4:00 pm ET
Event Address: 56 Seaport Blvd, Boston, MA 02210

About the Event:

Join a group of cancer survivors, thrivers, caregivers, and advocates for our regional day kayaking in Boston!

Our partners at L.L.Bean are providing fun to Fort Point Channel with Outdoor Discovery Programs launching from Boston Children’s Museum. L.L.Bean provides everything you need to get out on the water, no experience necessary.

Exploring nature in a kayak is a healthy and fun way to enjoy the outdoors. The day begins with a brief introduction and safety talk from L.L. Bean’s friendly paddling instructors, who will share their knowledge gained from years of kayaking. They’ll outfit you with a personal flotation device (PFD), kayak and paddling equipment, giving you insight on the best ways to set up your boat. Then, you’ll receive instruction on a variety of paddling techniques.

After you feel comfortable on the water, you’ll set out in a kayak on a guided, interpretive tour with your group. You’ll experience the freedom of skimming across the water, learning about the ecosystem and history of the area.

After being on the water, we’ll gather as a group for light snacks and refreshment as we discuss life and cancer survivorship.
